Mrs. Betsey Brabham died on the

She first married Mr, William Kearse

Mr. Joseph Itrsliliam, w ho died about

she had been a member of Buford’s
Bridge Methodist church. \ very iaige
congregation attended her burial in the
family grave yard, Rev. J, II. Wilsou

About thirteen months ago the barn
and stables of Mr. Ja*. M. Brabham, of
Buford’s Bridge tMvnship, were
burned, .with his corn ainUfurago. The
fire was believed to have beenilcoUleii-
ul. No one believed that he had an en
emy in the world. His long life, he is
now upw ards of four score, bad been
one of almost apostolic goodness.
On Friday night the misfortune was
repeated. Messrs. W.C. Best and Joe
Brabham, his gue.sts for the night,
looked sround the premises before re
tiring at Id o’clock, and all w a* well.
At midnight they were awakened and
found his ham in fiames. They rescued
his stock with difficulty, but the lot
buildings and all his corn.'several hnti-

stack, wore bHrne'J.
Suspicious tracks were found, owning
and going On Saturday .Mr. Raymond
Kearse wa* arrested. He was kept in
custody until Monday, w hen Trial Jus
tice Grimes held a preliminary nxaini-
natiuti. 1. L. Tobin, Esq., appeared
for the-defendant. Justice Grimes de-
clded to send tfie defendant to the Conrt
of Sessions ami he was coiniiiitted to
