Three Trade Truths.

About eight o'clock the guests assem
tiled in the spacious hall of Capt. Jen
ny’s house, the hall doors were thrown
open, and every one was on the qui vivo
the bridal party entered.
First came Miss Carrie Platts and
Mr. Win. Roberts,. then Miss Jessie
Brant and Mr* Owen Loadholt, the two
couples taking position on th# opposite
sides of the "Squire.” The groom, Mr.
‘eter Snook, entered with his best man,
Mr. John Barnes and the bride, Miss
Bruce, followed, leaning on the arm of
her maid of honor, Miss Maggie Imad-
lolt. As the bride and her^maid of
honor readied the side of the groom,
Mr. Snook took charge of her who
should hence-forth share his lot, snd,
as they stood in the center of a semi
circle formed by the^ maids and
groomsmen it was indeed a scene of
beauty. One brother, “Squiro” Wat
kins, then proceeded to performing the
vceremouy in the following solemn
words
“ Kqotn away back in the future it has
been customary for man to marry wo
man, and, as this couple have presented
themselves for that glorious purpose, I
wdll, if 1 hear rto objections, proceed to
perform that pleasant duty. Does any
one present object?”
Just here a slight disturbance was
heard at the ‘‘Squire’*” right, but
words seeming to fail, the 8qulre pro

our town and been more generally

congratulates Greenwood in having
two such additions as Messrs, Molony
and Burckmyer.
Old Uncle Sam Meyers, familiarly
known as “Doc,” who was recently sent
from thi* place to the Insane Asylum in
Columbia, is desd. His body was
brought home on last Friday night and
his remains interred in the negro cem
etery on Saturday. Doe. was one of the
oldest citisens of our town.
The center of attraction in our midst
now is a first class “Dog Show.” The
show Is holding forth on theS. C. Rail
way Go’s vacant lot next to their depot.
All who attend seem thoroughly pleased
and pronounce it a good show and well
worth the money.
Miss Jennie-Vaughn who ha* been
spending sometime with Miss Idmhes
DoWitt, ha* returned to her home in
Augusta. Miss Jennie has made many
friend* in -Blackvlllo who hope to see
her in our midst before always.

The Ball in Blackville.
Last Thursday evening a goodly
crowd*assembled at the rooms of the It.
S C. to worship at the shrine of Terp
sichore. A sumptuous supper was
served at 12 o'clock, for which Capt.
Levy and Mr. O’Gorman deserve espe
cial praise, but then the BlackyiHe af
fair* arc always successful.
The march was gracefully led by Mr
