Some time during last year an at
tempt was made to sell a portion of the
Gourt House square as vacant land. To
avoid anything Id the kind In the fu
ture, 1 suggested to'the Board of County
Commissioners that it would be well
for the county, if they would use a
{ portion of a aurplua amount w hich they
jad on hand, in pulling an iron^ence
around said square, and told them if
they would do so, the Town Council
would keep the square in order and put
seats in it and that it would be a great
eonvenienoe to 'the country people
when they attended Court. That 1
