A New Baptist Cknrcfc* ' A three days meeting was held at Hammond, June 10-121892, fot the pur pose of organizing a Baptist church. Rev. W. G. Britton is preaching here one Sunday in each mouth under ap pointment of the State Mission Board and he is doing a good work. On Friday June 10th the opening tier mon was preached by Rev. D. W. Key It w as a strong and eloquent present* tion of the Christian's high calling. Then followed a scholarly paper by Ray. C. P. Ervin on A New Testament church. A church was organized with twanty eight members, dismissed for the pur pose by the Friendship and Reedy Branch churches. Au address was made to the new church after the covenant had been read and subscribed to, owtbe re*non fibllities ofehureb membership, trv Rev B. W. Lide. Dinner was served on the groflnd and everybody seemed to have a good time. On Saturday the new church elected two of Its number to the office of dea con*, after hearing a sermon by Rev. R. W.
