Hogg came in town on Tues day and surrendered to the>heriff. Col. Robert Aldrich, hit counsel, applied to Judge Witherspoon for bail, on the ground that his client had acted in self defence, as the latter’s affidavit stated that he and deceased had an altercation l»efore entering Furman's saloon. Ma jor Izlar, for the State, resisted the ap plication, and after argument Judge Witherspoon refused him bail and he was lodged in jail.
