Matthews, a prominent and highly respected citizen of Willlxton, died from a complication of diseases caused indi rectly from an attack of la grippe. He tiled surrounded by his family and friends. His end was peaceful, and he »d away without a struggle. Mr lews was about B1 years of age. Ha served throughout the # late war, and was regarded as a brave and effi cient soldier After the war he en gaged in planting which occupation he followed up to 0c time of his death. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn his loss. He was a kind and af fectionate father and husband, and a good neighbor and citizen.
