March was brought in reMulutions pub
lished in tbe Bamberg Advertiser of

March. As the aim of the resolutions
seemed uncertain the Alliance editor
thought proper to lay his course before
President Stackhouse. Five days after,
on the 2ltb March, the political editor
.received official notification from Secre

simply make the statement that before

wax sent to the tax payers of the tow n,
request ing the signatures of all w ho fa
vored It on one side of the sheet, ami
those opposed on the other. That pa
per Is now on Jlle with the Clerk of
Council. It shows tbe signatures of
seventv-seven ux payers in favor of it
and seven opposed, and a few were
neutral. The returns for taxes made
since first of this month are now on tile
with Clerk of Council. The assessment*
