ent meml>er of the Baptist Church, and
for years a Deacon oi Long Branch,
which office ho tilled in the spirit oi a
true Christian. As a citizen, contpau-
ion and father he empiiatieallv, hon-
orsbly and well discharged his every
duty.
Therefore, in his death our country
and our zion have to iitouru 'he loss of
a noble and a good man, as his long,
useful life testidcs. lie leaves a w idow ,
a sou, two brothers, one sister and a
htrgcxnnnecrioir of relatives w ho can
but mourn his absence. But they are
consoled by the promises of God who
doe lb all things well.
