Chattaworth, the next station cast of
here, is six miles oil. and the run there was
made in seven minutes.
Three nines from Chattsworth is a little
slough, ami where the railroad crosses a

Owing to a new regulation of the -New
York cotton exchange on and after Sep
tember 1, 1887, cotton buyers in all interior
towns will deduct from bales weighing
under 409 pounds J cent per pound; under
350 pounds j per pound; and packages less
than 800 pounds are not considered bales
and are therefore unmerchantable. The
ginnett and farmers will do well to note
this fact in putting up their cotton. They
will also find it to their interest to increase
the general average of their bales, as the
heavy weight of bales from the Southwest,
is in addition to the superior staple, an ad
ditional inducement lor Northern and
European spinners to give their orders to
that section. This is an important iqaue
to the gioners and farmers, uud should re
ceive their attention.
