The first thing to be found out is
whether or rot the people along the

easily l* learned by talk at pic ijics,
poet office* and occasional Accidental

pulses of his neighbor* brat without
losing a day from minding his own
business.
If the people want It then next in or
der comes the rub’how to get It. And
before beginning the cost might to be
learned. Township sflbscrlptlons from
individuals sufllclcntto secure a survey
and Mtimate of cost could no doubt
be secured.
After that has been done those inter-
extrd can tell whether the road will t>*
w orth what it a 111 cost and decide to
stop or go on accordingly. The money
t«» build it can be raised partly by indi
vidual subscription or township taxa
tion, and when that shall be exhausted
more can be borrowed.

throughout were exceedingly pleasant

The presence of visiting dignitaries

Mr. M. J. Keller heeded the Hat with a
subscription of ode thousand dollars end
others followed until fifteen hundred of
the nine thousand required were se

Editor W. D. Kirkland addressed the
Conference in behalf of bis superb pa

and promised, with Increased support,
to make It even better than it now is—
(This editor is a. doubting Thomas as to
his ability to make good that promise.)
Dr. 0. A. Darby, President of the Co

behalf of thst institution, the only fe
