Th* Bcrned District.—The burned
district includes an area of thirteen

dwelling house remained. On the square
South of the depot, hounded by-Clark,
Dexter and Lartigue streets, and R. R.
Avenue, nothing escaped. On the
square hounded by Lartigue, Dexter
and Jefferson streets and R. R. Avenue,
a small tenement, just east of Mr. Si
mon Brown’s home (dace was the only
building left. •South of Dexter street,
tiie Catholic Church, residences of Miss
M. E. Maher and Martin Keeler and
outbuildings of O. C. Able, largegifuno
shed w est and the plat form and ware
house east of tlie depot were burned,
and that building narrowly escaped, the
furniture having been removed from
the office preparatory to its evacuation.
