has been thoroughly successful and tho
boy is in perfect health. He had Iwen
bitten rixty hours and hnd travelled flom
Alsace to Paris before the first inocula
tion was pet formed.
A shepherd boy named Judith, aged
fifteen, was bitteu by a mad dog a fort
night ago and hss now been a week un
der treatment. Dr. I'a-^Uur is confident
of curing him.
AN OVATION.
Dr. Pasteur said that it wss now nec
essary to provide an estiblishment where
rabbits might hIwsts be kept inoculated
with the disensa. In this way a constant
supply of spinal tissus of old and repent
inoculation would always be ready. Ile-

tuaa cured of hydrophobia could suffer
frem a second bite. In other words,
whether the Inoculation of virus w is a
guarantee against hydroplmbia. In an-
twer Dr. Posu-ur states that the malady
is transiniwible only by bite. If, there
fore, by a general compulsory inocula
tion of dogs for several generations dogs
had been made incapable of hydropho
bia, the malady would have disappeared
and there would be no oc-usion to ask
whether inoculation had a permanent ef
fect or not. As to the origin ol hydro,
phobia, Dr. Pusteur says nobody iu the
world can explain its primal causes. As
he remarked—perhaps out of politeness—
his theory will require study by the pro
fession in order lo make it practical, but
he emphatically slated that the cure for
hydrophobia had been leund.

WATER.
You need considerable water in the
system to run the machine. This may be
taken ou rising and oa going to bed. If
withia a nils or two of a spring make a
visit in the enrly morning, and take one
or more draught* of fresh water chargt-d
with elect, icily from the earth. To boil
water is to lessee its physiological value.
There is something magical in the influ
ence of water fresh from mepring, drank

EAT I HUIT.
Fruit eating must obtain more than ft

measure. Our live are becoming im

is incompatible with many generations

Fruit should be kepi where the chil

of apples will often save a fit of sickness.

them ever so much good. Never scrimp
