W. W. (Bill) Hnck^bee. 69, died
at his home in Williamston shout
1:86 o’clock Sunday night. He
had been in declining health for
several years and was seriously 111
for two weeks. He was s nstlve
of Camden, bat had, lived In Wll-
lamaton for the last 26 years.
Mr. Huckabee served In France
In World War 1 and was a charter
member of the American Legion
*ost In Camden. He was A mem
ber of Big Creek Baptist church
and took an active part in church
work while his health permitted.
He was a former superintendent
of the Sunday school and choir
director and soloist for, n long
period of time. He was a son of
the late William Wilson and Re
becca Vaughn Huckabee.
Survivors Include bis wife the
ormer Miss Lois Poore; two sis
ters, Mrs. Annie Miller and Mrs.
B. R. Truesdale of Camden; also
neice and several nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4
m. Tuesday at Big Creek Bap
tist church. Officiating ministers
rere Rev. R. L. McGaha, Rev Paul
dabry, Rev. Clyde Brooks, and
lev. Charles Heltman. Burial was
n the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ralph
Huckabee, Marvin Huckabee Ed
win Miller, N. Z. Truesdale, Htary
