D. clubs Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Kershaw Market. The meeting was called to order by the President, Mrs. D. C. West, after which she conducted the devotional. The .group'then sang "God of Our Fathers." Mrs. West welcoiped Miss Por tia Seabrook, South Carolina Ex tension Clothing Specialist and the visiting clubs. Mrs. J. B. Owens from the Thorn Hill club, respond ed. The meeting wga then turned over to Miss Margaret Powell, County Home Demonstration agent. Miss Fewell reminded the ladies they only have until Feb. 10, to place their orders for rat poison. She then Introduced Miss Seabrook who gave a demonstration on “Old Hats Made New.” Miss Seabrook showed the ladles how to reftnish snd decorate summer hats. Dur ing the afternoon each lady was given an opportunity to retlnish their hat. Many “Easter bonnets" were reflnished and decorated with nylon tulle, flowers snd feathers. All the bride's attendants were gownetT alike in white nylon net over pale blue taffeta made wiln very full skirts. The tight bodices of white embroidered organdy over pale blue taffeta were strapless snd worn with white net rtoles. Tiny blue ribbon sashes were tied in the buck and all the attendants wore short white gloves and single ds of pearls, gifts of the bride, •y’ WfletT of mined Spring flowers, the honor attend ants being tied with blue satin ribbon iSd the bridesmaids with pink satin. Given in marriage by her father, the petite bride was lovely in her wedding gown of white Duchess satin and tolle. The bodice of satin and tulle waa heavily beaded in seed pearls and the full srtin skirt van shirred on the hips and worn over Slight hoops. The long satin sleeves ended in Culls lily points on the wrist and her veil of white bridal illusion, was worn from a tiers of tulle and seed pearls She wore uh ever veil of French illu sion and lace which was used by her mother at her wedding. Mrs. Fox. wore n grape lace aad chif- fon gown, loot white kid n lavender and fuchia orchid in her hair. Following the ceremony a re ception waa held in the Recrea tion Hail. The receiving line which formed in front of the French doors waa composed of Mrs Schlosborg. Mr. and Mrs. Fox. the bride snd bride groom and the bride’s attendants. Miss Katherine Sheorn kept the bride’s register. The bride’s table in the game room was exquisite in its sppoint- ment Covering the table was an im ported linen and lace cat work | bouquet cloth festooned with bridal Illusion, lilies of the valley and fern, and centered with the three tiered wedding cake. ' The cake, made heart shape, waa decorated with spun sugar roses, lilies of the valley ‘and green leaves. The top layer was em bossed with a tulle heart bearing the names qf “Joan and Stan” and had at the base a miniature bride and groom. Decorated mints in shape of bridal slippers, wedding rings and hearts were served in silver com potes and individually decorated cakes, open face and ribbon sand wiches and salted nuts were served with the lime ice and champagne punch to the 500 guests. Silver candelabra aud brides roses in silver bowls completed the table decorations. Arrangements of mix ed Spring flowers were used in all the rooms and at the cocktail bar in the East game room. During the evening the couple left for their wedding trip to New Orleins, La, and upon their re turn they will make their home in Washington. D. C. For traveUQg the brMe changed to a beige and brown toaarchecked wool suit made with a flamfe wool top and cummerband and a/oolero Jacket to match the skirt, With this she wore ^ matching hat of the checked wool hairing a huge scarf of the flame^wool, brown alligator shoes and bag and a mink coat. She wore the white orchids from her prayer book. Mrs. Fox is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hymes Schlosburg of Camden, the latter being Thresa Kaplan of Macon, Ga, before her marriage. She received her edu cation in the Camden schools and at Stratford Junior College. Dan ville, Va„ and graduated at the University ot North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N. C, where she was popular in social activities.
