another project, in which they
have to keep the Library clean.

met the Mt. Plsgah team for a
game last Friday night. The “Gen
erals" came out with both sides
winning.
Wednesday night again was a
victorious night for the “Generals”
girls. They came out with a score
of 34 to SO against Heath Springs
in favor of Baron DeKalb. The
Heatjh Springs boys won against
the “Generals” boys.
We are looking forward to the
county cage tournament, which Is
to be played at the Baron DeKalb
gym daring the week of February
5. Our first opponent will be Mid
way.

Ashwood this season. 'The second

Made By School Districts

• 1950 ia the year for real estate tax returns to be
made. Also returns of personal property, new
buildings, transfer of real estate, poll and road tax
are to be made. The County Auditor’s office is
open now for such returns and the books will re
main open until March 1, 1950. All returns must
be made by School Districts. Do not wait until the
last day to make your returns. All household goods
and furniture used in the home of the owner of
such goods and furniture are hereby exempted
from taxation. Household goods and furniture

The Blaney High Popularity
Contest will end Friday, February
10, when the ball teams will meet
Ridgeway teams on the Blaney
court for a double-header. The
contest has been on for several
weeks. Among the girls entered
are: Ann Zorn, Betty J. Branham,
Dot Wooten, Beatrice Stockman,
Margaret Peake, Ruby L. Goff,
Margie Jackson. Ann Zorn is
leading.
The school as a whole contri
buted liberally to the March of
Dimes. The Fifth Grade came
first in contribution. The total
contribution was $13.45.
The Blaney basketball teams
split a double - header with
Bethune, Friday, January 27. The
Blaney girls won by a score of
32 to 23. The Bethune boys won
by a score of 36 to 19.
The girls defeated the Dents-
ville girls, Wednesday, February
1. The score was 45 to 33. The
Blaney boys lost by a score of
41 to 19. Good sportsmanship was
shown by both teams.
We are still without a com
mercial teacher but we hope to
have one soon.

historical contest by Curtis Hor
ton.
The boys’ and girls' basketball
teams defeated the Lydia teams,
January 27. The girls’ score was
45 to 22, and the boys’ score was
32 to 15.
