Birthday Dinner
For Mrs. John Watkins
One of the lovely occasions dur
ing the holidays was the birthday
dinner given Mrs. John M Wat
kins at her home near - Bethnne
by her children.
The dinner was served buffet
style from a beautifully appointed
table where festive holiday decor
ations were used.
Mrs. Watkins received many
lovely gifts from her children and
the many friends who called dar
ing the evening.

Fashion Show and Tea'
The Fashion Show and Tea
sponsored annually by the Wo
man’s Auxiliary of Grace Episcopal
church will be held this year on
Wednesday, Feb. IS. in the Parish
House of the church.
Clothes will be furnished as
usual by The Clothes Tree and
models will be announced at a
later date.

Bill Goodale Honored
On His Eighth Birthday
Bill Goodale, young son of Mr.
and Mrs. N. R. Goodale, Jr., was
complimented by hla mother on
last Saturday with a party, cele
brating his eighth birthday. The
12 young school mates and neigh
bors were taken to the matinee
performance at the Little Theater
and afterwards to Thomas Tavern
where ice cream, cake and candy
were served.
The table was centered with a
musical merry-go-round, . with,
groups of paper clowns surround
ing it. Candy suckers In bunches,
resembling balloons, completed the
circus theme. Colored balloons,
paper caps and 'horns were given

hon’s Business College. Columbia,
and is now employed by the
Emery-Hill Co. of Columbia.
The groom 1 attended Camden
High school before entering the
Army Air corps, where he spent
three years of active duty.- He is
now employed by the Alison-Erwin
Furniture Co. of Columbia.
After a short wedding trip the

In First Baptist Church
Miss Dora Mae Robinson, daugh
ter of Mrs. A. W. Robinson and
the late Mr. Robinson, became the
bride of David Murchison Blake,
son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Blake,
Sr, of Wilmington N. C.. in a
ceremony marked by dignity and
simplicity on Tuesday afternoon,
Jan. 10, at 2:20 o’clock at the First
Baptist church parsonage.
The pastor. Rev. O. Floyd‘Mont
gomery, performed the double ring
ceremony in the presence of the
immediate familiea and a few close
friends.
The bride and bridegroom enter
ed together and were attended by
Mias Annie Robinson, sister of the
bride, as maid of honor, and Gene
Blake of Wallace, N. C., brother
of the bridegroom, as best man.
The bride was lovely in an ad
vanced spring navy blue pure silk
dress with Navy blue and white
accessories. Her flowers were
white orchids in a shoulder cor
sage. The maid of honor wore a
camellia pink wool dress with
black accessories and a white car
nation corsage.
Immediately following thecere-
mony the young couple left for
Wilmington, N. C. where they will
reside at 2851 Adamr street.
For traveling the bride changed
to a amok e-grey wool garbardlne
ensemble with Navy blue acces
sories and she wore her wedding
corsage of white orchids.
Mrs. Blske received her educa
tion in the Camden City schools,
graduating at Camden High school.
She has been employed by the
First National Bank of Camden
as secretary for six years.
The bridegroom Is a graduate of
New Hanover High school, Wilm
ington, N. C., and now holds a re
sponsible position in the electrical
department of the United States
