Miss Pitta received her educa tion at Furman University, Greenville. Her father is the re tired president of Hermitage Cot ton Mills in Camden. Miss Pitts paternal grandparents are the late Rev. and Mrs. John Douglas Pitts of Laurens. Her maternal grand- f iarents are the late Mr. ana Mrs. saac Post of Scranton, Pa. Mr. Calhoun graduated from Clemson A & M College, Clem- son. His maternal grandparents are the late Judge and Mrs. Alex ander Lawton Miller of Macon, Ga., and his paternal grandpar ents are the late Mr. a od Mrs- John Francis Calhoun of Willing- ton Plantation, Abbeville countv. During the World War, Mr. Cal houn served in the Army Air Forces as an intelligence officer with the 20th Bomber Command in the China-Burma-India theater and also on Okinawa. He is now assistant vice president of the Nhr v -*trT coepssy in New York City. ~ ~ The wedding will take place In early April in the Betheeda Pres byterian church, Camden. * * * # + * Dr. And Mrs. Williford Give New Year's Eve Party One of the most festive of the New Year’s Eve parties was the one given Saturday evening by Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Williford at their attractive home on Ches- nut street. ... . Guests were invited for 9:30 and delicious refreshmenta were served from the dining room table. A holiday motif was* car ried out effectively in the house decorations and with the formal attire of the guests made this • gala affair. At midnight songs were sung and many Happy New Years said by the 50 j>ersons invited. Tri-Gamma Sorority Gives Christmas Ball The Episcopal Parish ' House was the sedba of the annual Christmas Ball given by the Tn- Gamma society of the Camden High School on Wednesday eve ning, Dec. 28, from nine until one o'clock. . . , The ball room was decorated with the sorority colors of blue and white and a profusion of Yuletide evergreens. Just before intermission, the Tri-Gamma no break was danced to the sorority theme song “Star Dust. Chaperones included parents of various members and former Tri- Gamma’s. Music was furni^ed by Bill Burns and hit Orchestra. Officers of Tri-Gamma are Will Ann Campbell, president; Dons Emerson, vice-president, Mary Jeanette Campbell, secretary, and Patsy Hammond, treasurer. Marion*W. The double ring cere mony was performed before the altar which was prepared before the mantel, The archway was entwined with smilax, white gladA and pines in front of the fireplace. Rev. J. B. Miss Susan Rush and Mrs. R. E. Watkins were the bride’s\ at tendants. They wore gray suits with black accessories and car ried nosegays of blue and white carnations. Mrs. Sinclair, mother of the bride, wore a blue crepe silk dress and hat and white gloves. Her corsage was white carnations. Mrs. Smith, mother of the bride-groom, wore a navy blue suit with a corsage of white carnations. A reception followed after the ceremony. The bride’s table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a two-tiered wed ding cake. Mrs. John Hagins and Mrs. Gerard Glasier assisted in serving. ' Mr. and Mrs. Smith left for a short wedding trip to Georgia. The bride added the orchid from her prayer book to her costume for traveling. Mrs. Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W.
