A Watohnight Service at the
First Baptist church offered to
church goers the opportunity to
usher in the New Year with a
worship service. A large congre
gation attended the three-and-
a-half hour program.
Many of Camden’s merchants
were busy during the week fol
lowing Christmas staging pre-in
ventory sales. Activities leading
up to the Jan. 2 Horse Bowl dia
much to carry over the holiday
spirit in the city through another
week.
But the return to normally was
the outstanding trend in Camden
as the steady advance of the cal
ender left New Year’s and
Christmas behind and moved into
the second half of a century of
progress.
