To Santa Clans
“Once a man, twice a diild."
Men and women who have be
come again children will know
and understand what the writer
ot the Santa Claus letter below
meant. The name of the person
who wrote this letter is not
known. People sre sometimes in*
ipired today, even as of old. This
monymous wHter is old. ‘Only

written it:
Dear Santa:
It has been a long, long time
since I have written to you.
„ I have now moved from

of loveliness and doubt,
stands at the end of disillusion
avenue. All of the gloriously
bright little bubbles that I had in
Tears gone by are now either
broken or tomished and . tear-
stained.
Please bring me a few of those
r ious toys that I once had—
shining bubbles of Joy; the
tinkling bells of cheer that rang
in my voice; the candles of faith
that shone in my eyes; the frank
incense and hymns of steadfast
hope that strengthened my soul
and the lone star of universal
love that gleamed in my heart
In years past, I realize I did
not appreciate thoae priceless
treasures or care for them as I
should have — but I repent my
carelessness and humbly ask you
to remember me with another
supply this Christmas.
I will hang my empty heart
right by the chimney, Sants, and
please, this is what I want:
Give me a large basket of for
getfulness, with which to cover
up all bitterness and useless
brooding; a large box of forgive
ness for those who robbed me of
kughter and filled my eyes with
tears; leave me enough fit the
cement of hope to mend the shat
tered fragments of joy; tuck in
a little song of cheer and please,
Santa, leave quite a lot of plain
old-fashioned faith, understand
ing, unselfishness and tolerance
that I can share freely with my
neighbors. ‘ ,
