Mr. and Mrs. Soria Burke (Mar garet Jenkins) and daughter, Marian, of Columbus, Ohio,* ar rived on last Thursday for a visit with Mrs. Burke’s mother, Mrs. J. F. Jenkins, Laurens street. Mr. and Mrs. Lauren* Graham and daughters, Pat, Katherine and Laura of Orangeburg, were guests recently of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Clarke. Pat Griham remained for a longer visit and was accom panied home by Betty Clarke. Miss Sara Grubbs spent last weekend in Barnwell where she was a bridesmaid in the wedding of Mary Carolyn Phillips and Othniel Henry Wienges, Jr., which took place in the First Baptist church on Saturday evening. Mrs. Alfred McLeod, Hampton street, has returned from a month’s stay in Memphis where she visited her sister, Mrs. Elmo Stickney. Mrs. McLeod also spent last week in Orangeburg with Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Graham. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Goodstein, of North Charleston, and their children, Marion and Arnold, and also Mrs. Julia S. Heyman and sons, Julian, Jr., and Marion, Jr., spent Sunday with Marion Hey man. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Bradham and son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Will Bradham, N. Broad street, have returned from a two week’s vacation motoring through the Smokeys and stopping at Gat- linburg, Tenn., and points in North Carolina. , Britton of Chester field is the guest this week of Mr. and Mrs. Hampton Irby, Char lotte-Thompson community. Mr. and Mrs. Clemont C. Shiver and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Seegars spent last weekend at Myrtle Beach. The Seegars spent the week be fore on the river in their trailer house on a fishing trip. Dr. and Mrs. Benton Burns and daughters, Henrietta and Mar l garet of Columbia have been spending a vacation at the M. B. Burns cottage on Hermitage Lake. Mrs. A. Moultrie Brailsford, Fair street, has returned from a visit with relatives in her former home in San Antonio, Texas. She was accompanied home by her sister, Miss Ruth Cunyers, who will remain for an extended visit Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hoffman and daughter, Betsy, spent Suiiday in Laurenburg, N. Boykin Kirkland left on Thursday for a visit with friends in Old Lyme, Conn. She will re turn the middle of September. Mrs. Robert P. Les Ryan and daugh ter, Nancy Ryan, of Scranton, Pa., were guests this week at the Bates residence on N. Lyttleton street.
