Electrical Storm;
And Cool Weather
From a high of 93 degrees Friday
to a minimum reading of (2 Sunday
morning, the weather man gave
Camden a wide range of tempera
ture.
The drop in temperature followed
a thunderstorm that swept the
area Saturday morning, aome inch]
and three quarters of rain falling
in a period of 40 minutee. In the
afternoon there was another heavy
downpour. In each instance many
streets became rivenf while in low
sections small lakes were in evi
dence.
Lightning struck many times,
one bolt hitting a tree Just west
of the post office, jumping to a
phone wire and wrecking a metal
box on the outside of the building.
A number, of residences were re
portedly struck but so far as is
known the damage was light.
There were no fire calls during |
the electrical disturbance.
The drop in temperature found
