After only erne week of play in
the second half of the Camden
Softball League, it is evident that
competition will rage more fierce
ly than the first hall The teams
seem to be better balanced as all
of the boys are iust beginning to
: get in shape, and are just remem-
i Bering some of their long lost
softball savvy. With all teams
playing two games per week rath
er than one, interest is at a much
higher pitch, and all teams and
spectators are looking forward to
a fine second half of play.
Sports Equipment, Inc., of this
city, announced on Monday, July
18, that they were presenting to
the City Sonball League a valu
able trophy to be presented to the
winning team at the expiration of
play this summer. This trophy
will be a permanent one and will
be retained by the team declared
the champion of the league.
Wateree and Hermitage Cotton
Mills have taken an early lead
in the league standings even as
they did in the first half of play.
But both have had very close
