ner, accompanied by Mrs. Sally B.
Metis, and their 21-year-old
daughter, Sally. He will report to
his new assignment at Head
quarters, 3rd Army, Fort McPher
son, Ga., upon his arrivad in the
States.
A graduate of the University of
South Carolina, class of 1913, Col.
Metis is a veteran of both World
Wars I and H. Holder of the Le-
f ion ef Merit and the Bronze
tar medal he served in the Euro
pean-African-Middle East cam
paign. His other assignments in
clude: 79th Field ArtiDery Group,
32nd Field Artillery Brigade, XXI
Corps Artillery, Fort Bragg, N. C.,
and Fort Jackson.'
He reported for duty with the
Philippines command in Decem
ber of 1947 and was first assigned
as G-3, Philcon, prior to his ap
pointment with Camp Rizal and
57th Regiment.
