Junior High School On
Wednesday, February 23
Bids will be opened on next Wednesday afternoon,
February 23 at 3 o'clock by the board of trustees of the
Camden City Schools for the construction of the new jun
ior high school Which is to be built on Lyttleton street just
south of the Camden Grammar School. The board will
meet in the office of Superintendent J. G. Richards.
The new building will be two
stories high and will contain a
cafeteria. It will be connected by
a covered hall with the grammar
school building.
On March 1, the board of
trustees will open proposals for
the purchase of $126,000 of gen
eral obligation bonds of School
District No. 1 and the money de
rived from the sale of these bonds
will be used in the construction
of the junior high school building.
The bonds will be in denomina
tion of $1,000 each and will ma
ture as follows: $1,000 on March 1
in each year, 1950 and 1951;
$3,000 on March 1 in each of the
years, 1952 and 1955, inclusive;
$4,000 on March 1, 1956; $5,000
on March 1 in each of the years,
1957 and 1958, and $10,Oft) on
March 1 in each of the years,
1959 and 1969, inclusive.
It is hoped to have the new
junior high building ready for
occupancy at the opening of the
session next fall. It will go a long
ways towards relieving the pres
ent crowded condition of the city
schools.,
