The Camden High School Bulldogs handed the Ches
ter High team its first defeat of tihe season last Friday
night at Chester, having come out on the top end of a 14
to 13 score. It was, incidentally, the first time this season
that the Chester team had been scored on.
The game marked the end of
athletic relations between the two
schools toi the present the Cam-
den high school having broken off
these relations regretfully because
of unfortunate incidents at the
conclusion of the game.
Cox was the star of the

game, the local youth having
scored all of the 14 point* made
by the Bulldogs. His first touch
down came in the early part of
the first period when Camden
marched from the Chester 48 to
the Chester one-yard stripe on
runs by Beleos, Smith and Cox,
the latter bucking the bell over
from the one-yara stripe and also
kicking the extra point.
Cox, Smith and Beleos started
drive in the second per
king the ball from the
Chester 40 to their 10-yard line
from where Cox scored again,
skirting wide around his own
right aid. Again Cox kicked the
extra point, which, it developed,
was the margin of victory. _ >
Following the game some
Camden players were attack
ed, it to stated, by members of
the Chester teem Camdwy
fans who rushed io their res
cue were rather badly man-
dignant over the treatment ac
corded the local team and those
who sought to come to their res
cut after they had been attacked.
Because of this incident local
school authorities have decided
that it would be for the best in
terests of the two schools for ath
letic relations between them to be
severed.

Saturday, October 30 at the
Wateree Baptist church of which
the Rev. J. T. Dabney is fixe pas
tor. The program committee is

theme at the meeting will be
“Stewardship.”
The meeting will open at 10:30
a. m., with the devotional being
conducted by the Rev. Douglas
Smith.

ing Evangelism in Our Churches’’,
the Rev. O. F. Montgomery, “De
veloping Our Churches In Wor
shipful Music” and there will be
an inspirational address by Rev.

Rev. Paul Webb and Rev. Boyce
Davis will discuss “Developing
the Spirit of Worship in Our Giv
ing.”
