The annual payroll in Waiter-
boro for the 259 persons employ

traveling public amounted to
$374,400. Information was at
oned from hotels, motor court*,
restaurants and service stations,
and the committee received co
operation from 95 per cent of the
firms involved.
An analysis of the committee’s
report showed that the tourist
business would cause the employ
ment of 40 professional men, in
cluding doctors, dentists, lawyers,
ministers, etc., and would call for
the utilization of 8,000 acres of
farm produce, 29 school rooms.
