columnist, Mr. Harold C. Booker,
speaker of the occasion. Mr.
Booker’s interesting and thought-
provocative subject was the "Sub
versive Influences of Communism
as seen through the eyes of a
Pressman.’^ A discussion., of. the
theme then took place in forum
form, and Mrs. White, the Presi
dent of the American Legion Aux
iliary and Mr. Arthur Stqjcea,
County Superintendent, of Educa
tion made some pertinent remarks
and Mr. Booker and Mrs. R. B.
Pitts told of articles in the last
Saturday Ehrenlng Post of the sub
ject. Mlcpah was said in unison
for adjournment.
Dainty cooling refreshments ser
ved from a most attractive table
in the dining room concluded a
pleasant and profitable hour. "As

with thrills. In the first inning
Cooper, tbe Chiefs big tall right

by Umpire Outzs. Duffy had
