pay for legislators, recreation and the racial question were
among the topics that creeped into the rather heated
speeches made by candidates for the House of Represen
tatives at the opening meeting of the Kershaw county cam
paign held in the court house Wednesday aftenioon. Ap
proximately 150 people attended and, far from bein^ bor
ed, all remained as though glued to their seats until the
last word had been spoken. •
