sure tbemselves df security 10 years
hence.'
“I have urged every one of our
volunteers to call upon business
people, professions! men and wom
en, Individuals who have the means
to buy more savings bonds to call
the treasury’s action In raising the
limit on E bonds to $10,000 in any
one calender year to their atten
tion. In these crowded days It is
likely many local residents have
overlooked the treasury’s’ an
nouncement. Local banks are ready
to assist residents to buy their full
share of Series E bonds.'

ot Naval Reservists, the Npvy de-
partmrat has authorised ttet the
regular crew of the training ship,
US8 Albany, a cruiser engaged In
traintaig naval reservists, aug
mented' by reserves who wish to
voinnteer for this duty.
The Albany operates from cast
eoast-bases ahd has been making
training ernieee fOr the pact 18
months to poria in the Caribbean,
Canal Zone, Bermuda, Argentina
and others fur liberty and retnm
to the States.
^ Those who volunteer for this duty
must meet the physical require
ments of the navy for sea duty, be
a member of the Naval Reserve,
and not be drawing any sort of
government pension or disability al
lowance. Volunteers must agree to
remain on active duty until De
cember 1, 1948, but duty Is guaran
teed for those who desire to stay
on until June 30, 1949. Pull pay and
allowances plus sea pay with no re
strictions for dependents has been
authorized.
