by Colonial Stores.
. In the showmanship contest,
'^farion Jones got $10 for winning
first prize in Camden and $26 In
Columbia, while EMward got |6 in
Camden and $15 in Columbia.
In commenting on the show Coun*
ty Agent W. C. McCarley said:
'‘The butcher shops and Indlrl-
dnals of Camden helped to make
the sale a success and they espec*
lally helped our Kershaw county
boys. The boys appreciate this sup
port and after all we hope it will
help the persons purchasing the
cattle. It is a good example of town
and country people working to
gether.

plant in butchering free of charge
Kershaw county cattle which were
purchased and brought back to Ker
shaw county.”
The Chamber of Commerce en
tertained the boys at a luncheon
at the Thomas Tavern last Thurs
day before the show.

The final hours of the
Red Cross Drive find Cam
den and Kershaw county
afbout $800 short of the goal,
it was stated Wednesday by
campaign officials, who
made an Urgent plea that all
who had not yet contributed
do so during the present
week.
It was stated that all persons
who have not contributed could do
so by getting in touch with Mrs.
Warren Smith, who is in charge of
