rived In Camden Saturday. Donald
haa made an honorable'record and
has had several nice “write ups’*
in different papers. His friends
are glad to welcome him back.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Cooper amd
grandson, Johnnie Buchan, spent
Sunday before last in Columbia
with their daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Buchan. They
also visited their nephew. Clyde
Ingle, who ie a patient In the Vet
erans hospital.
Mr. and Mis. J. H. Watkins cele
brated their JOth wedding anniver
sary last Thursday night, March
11. with a reception at th^ home
here. They received many nice gifts
from their friends. Delicious re
freshments with the wedding ci^
were served those assembled for
his happy occasion.

family of Waxhaw, N. C., were visi
tors here Sunday.
Midway school will close Thurs
day as the faculty will attend the
State Teachers meeting in Colum
bia. There will be school on Fri
day and Saturday.
It is with regret thnt we learned
Sunday of the resignation of the
pastor. Rev. W. L. Baker of Pine
Tree Presbyterian cburcb the last
of this month. Mr. Baker has made
many and lasting friends while
serving this field of work. We wish
for him and Mrs. Baker a very
successful and happy future.
Mrs. Louie Smith and her lovely
daughter, Jackie of Charlotte
Thompson spent Sunday with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mc-
Chskill.
Mrs. Willie Thom, who has been
in bed with flu, is able to out
again.

the Paratroop division and has had

about his ability as a paratrooper.
