At Greytown on the coast of
Nicaragua, the rainfall Is as much

Camden is given a good plug ifi the weekly nejys re
lease sent out by the Carolina Motor Club to newspapers
for use this week.
The letter contains this reference to Camden:
“At Camden, weekly polo games on historic Kirkwood
field, drag hunts, horse shows, hunting dog shows and race
events combine to offer cottages of the swank northm
colony, townspeople and tourists of this leading midsouth
sport and resort center a full arid interesting program for
the current winter season.
“The parade of sports will come
to a peak during the month of
'March when several horse shows,
outstanding polo matches and the
famous Carolina Cup Races at the
Springdale course will be on the
menu.
“The Carolina Cup race program
will be held on the last Saturday
in March, which will be on the 27th.
Harry D. Klrkover, owner of the
Springdale course, la, one of the
outstanding sportsmen of the
South.
“Two horse shows, the Virgin
ians and the Camden, will be held
at the Marion ‘duPone Scott oval.
The polo program for’ the entire
season will feature some of the
best in that sport to be presented
to the fans in many decades^
“March not only brings a whirl
wind finish to most of the sport
ing events but It finds Camden in
its gayest dress, with lawns and
gardens a riot of color with beau
tiful wisteria covering walls and
bomea and azaleas, camelias and
dogwood on every side.
“Every stable In Camden and
there are hundreds of them, are
filled with the nation’s finest
horses, all in training for the hunt
race season, which is ushered on
with the Carolina Chip classic.’’
