the Upper District basketball
loumament which wil' begin at
Ashwood on Feb. 4 with ten girl
teams and ten bovs teams com
peting.

ing ceremonies to be held at 15:30
o’clock on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Immediately following the open
ing ceremonies, Hillcrest girls and
boys will play the Central girls
and boys at 8 o’clock and at W
o’clock the Ashwood girls and boys
will take on the Bethune girls and
bo}^.
This is the largest district ionr-
nament in this part of the state
and for the past three years It has
been thoroughly enjoyed by every
one.
'The tournament this year shotild

cause the teams are classed about
even.

nursing class.
In spite of the inclement weather
Mrs. D. M. Mays of Bethune and
Mrs. Troy Denton of Malvern Hill
were present. These ladies are Red
Cross county chairmen and have
rendered splendid service. Mrs.
Claude West, one of our former
county chairmen, of Cassatt, who

ent.
A lovely arrangement of white
roses and red carnations were sent
for decoration to the annual meet
ing by the Camden Floral Company.
