“The Columns", ancestral home
bf the bride's father, was the scene
of g lovely and Impressive-wedding
at 4 o’clock on November 15, when
Miss Christine Anderson Thompson
became the bride of Bernard Alex
ander. The double ring ceremony
was performed by Rev. R. M. Phll-
liM of Qlenn Springs, pastor of
the bride.
The ante-bellum borne was beau
tifully decorated for the occasion
with Southern smilkx, ivy, fern and
giant white chrysanthemums and
the improvised altar was bonked
with baskets of white flowers and
tall candelabra.
Preceding the ceremony, a pro
gram of nuptidl music was pre
sen ted by Dupre Gregory, pianist,
and Mrs. William K Thompson,
Jr, soloist, and sister-ln-law of the
bride.
Mrs. John Coan Allison, twin-
sister of the bride, was matron of
honor.
Homer Alexander was his brotb-
tr’s best man.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her brother, William
Kilgore Thompson. Jr., was lovely
in a suit of soft green gabardine
with which she wore a salmon pink
blouse and brown accessories. Her
'’brsage was an orchid and her only
ornament was a string of peirls.
After the weddlnv a - reception
was held.
Mrs. Alexander is the daughter
of Mr. and Mra. William Kilgore
Thompson. Sr. (Pauline Anderson)
tf Olenn Springs. She was grad-
dated from Pauline High School
and took a business course. She
holds a secretarUl p.isitloj in
Spartanburg.
Mr. Alexander is the son o'. Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Alekandsr. He
was graduated from West Springs
High School and now bolds a posi
tion with Foster-Bnrns Motor Co.,
•n Spartanburg.
The young couple will make iheir
oome in Olenn Springs.

Club Has Meeting*
The Cassatt H. D. C. held its
November meeting with Mrs. John
Watkins. The roll was called and
minutes read by the president,
Mrs. B. M. Croft. The meeting was
then tuiiied over to Miss Lane
who gave a very interesting pro
gram of games and hints for en
tertainment which was enjoyed by
all. This was something unusual
and gave new life and interest to
the meeting.
There were 19 members present.
After the entertainment a de
licious sweet course with coffee
