Speaking of the band, we’re look

for the crowd.

Echoes From the
Charleston Game
Camden tans who braved the
long miles of highway to be pres
ent at the obsequies of the Charles
ton Bantams last Friday night were
lather glum during that first half,
as the Bulldogs repeled attack
after attack in the shadow of their
own goal postal
In the third quarter the Bulldogs
began to snarl and paraded from
iheir own 45 to the Bantam 15 In
three first downs. Then they turn
ed lieon Branham loose on a triple
reverse and recorded the lone but
winning touchdown of tte evulBg.
It WM n hard longht game and
abovt the roughest the Bulldqcs
have taken part in all season. The
heavy Fort City youngsters did
eveiythlng but commit mayhem
put over a win.
Hie Camden band, led by petite
Mary Jeaneue Ckmpbell. scored a
Wg hit and the thousands that
jammed the stadium gave the unit
a rottstnf hand. Dtneetor Hal Mid
dleton couldn’t get his cap. on his
head after he had watched his
charges strut their trucky forma
tions without a flaw and heard the
roar of applause from the mob.
Tonight’s the night the fans have
been waiting for. It will be Cam
den vs., the Cyclonic powerhouse
from up Chester way. It’s going to
be a battle royal, according to
Chester s^rt writers, who visual
ize a setback- to the Bulldog parade
toward a state title. Well, we’ll
see.
The game tonight should be a
sell-out for the Camden fans recog
nize it to be a crucial affair. A
win will probably mean the state
title.
Game time 'is 8 p. m. Oct there
