vella midway. Hila will be one

works, says Director Middleton,
who has palled the same stunt

Jack Moody was host to an inform
al band party, assisted by hit par
ents, Mr, a^ Mrs. Moody. The
pafty was lots of fun and thanks to
Bobby Jack, saxophonist of the
Camden band.*
Vera Grace McCaakill, majorette
of the band, gave an after-game
party to the band membera on Oct.
2, following the Kartsville-Camden
game. She was assisted by her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Boykin Me-
Caskill. Thanks 4o Vera Grace,
too, for lots of fhh and good eats.

has backed the (3amden Balldoga
at every, game this season, includ
ing the ’ out-of-town game against
Sumter. The band gave drill ex-
hibitloBs at the half-time period
at the Dreher. Snmter and Harfs-
vtlle games. The marching band la
led by bigh-ateppiuf Mary Jeanette
Campbell, who gtvea the signals
lor ths unit Following Majorette
. eanette are three attractive twirl-
ers, Martha Arranta^ Carol Hicks
and Vera Grace McChskill. Now
comes the band—five wide and six
deep, which has received plenty of
nice compliments for its drill ex
hibitions at these games.

J. West, Sr., route 2, Cornier, is
undergoing recruit training at
Paris Island aa a member of pla
toon 95, First Recruit Battalion.
A former student at Camden
high school. West enlisted In the
Marine corps at Columbia on Sept,
b, 1947, and plans to continue his
education through courses offered
free to Marines by the Marine-co^s
institute.
