Camden is out to get r^enge
for one of the rawest deals panded
them this season, when thhy lost
to Florence last Saturday/ in the
Red Cap city by a 6 to 3 count,
after a sensational demonstration

Camdeh fans gained a fairly com
prehensive idea of just what the
famous Lefty Clifton's "greatness”
actually amounts to. for even the
most mediocre chunker could win
under the circumstances.
Anyhow, there is hope that Clif-

night. The Chiefs would like noth
ing better than to get another crack
at the Syraense castoff.
The race for the Palmetto bunt
ing is just about the hottest in the
baseball world. At this writing fire
teams are corered with a blanket
as they prepare for the stretch
drive. The pennant hangs on the
gamei, and it might be that the
team roster of the playoff will also
be affected. -
All games In the league were
called oft lasr Friday night because
of rain and whether the Reason
will be extended to take care of
these postponed events is not
known. Definitely the pennant
chances of several of the clubs
might be improved if they were.

over as football coach at *Tarboro
high school in North Carolina.
What a drawing card lies within
the vision of Lindsay Pierce for a
turkey day game. The Camden Bull
dogs vs. a team coached by an old
Bulldog star. It’s worth thinking
about don’t yon guess?
A bunch^ of Bishopville high
school students in the grandstand
at the Legion stadium last Tues
day night exchanging bandiage
with Camden fans and declaring
very stoutly that they would get
revenge for th'e has^Mill lickings
by "whaling the daylights out of
the Camden football t^m'on Sep
tember 12.’”
W^l. they sure did just that last
year but we have a hunch that
the Dragons are going to find some
tough going when they take on
the Bulldogs this year.
MARSHALLS RETURN TO CITY
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. (Dub) Marsh
all. Jr., and son, who have been
making their home in Fayetteville,
N. C.. have recently returned to
Camden to live. Mrs. Marshall was
formerly Elizabeth Moore. They are
at present making their home with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Stoney Moore, where Mr. Marshall
will be associated with Marshall’s
Grocery.
