a trip with ten boys to visit sev
eral northern colleges and uni
versities.

pital where she was a patient for

C. Ch Shaw, formerly at the
head of the Camden Iron and
Brass Works, was not ohly an ex
pert in foundery operations, but
since his rellrement. he has spec
ialised in gardening.
He is exhibiting a cucumber that
la by no means s midget—in tact
the cuke is ten inches long, 10 1-2
inches at its widest circumference
and scales two pounds—enough to
take care of a good-sited family.
Mr. Shaw states that this is not
the peak sise cuke, that he has
grown, that several years ago he
had one that weighed two and a
half pounds.
The cuke exhibited this week is
of the Hastings variety, long green,
and the aeed>eame from Atlanta.
