Scores Big Hit
A unique and delightful musica
revue was presented by five young
ladies of Camden Monday evening
in the garden of the Caleb C. Whit
aker, Jr., hofhe on Lyttleton street.
The presentation, given ■ before
an audience composed of families
and friends of the young ladies,
was outstanding in origlnalty, re-
sourcefulnesa, creathrenesa to cos
tumes, and potential artistic ability.
It was planned, rehearsed and pre
sented as an original Idea, without
adult assistance.
The appreciation of those in at
tendance was shown by the con
stant applause and laughter. The
program listed below consisted of
vocal numbers, pantomime, dance
numbers, mnslcal interpretations
and musical comedy of typical

Colonel Whetstone was born
May 88, 1900. at Perry. He is a
graduate of Wagoner higb schostf-;
and^ of Clemson college where he
received a B. S. degree, majoring
in agricultural education. He
taught vocational agriculture at
Hillcrest high school in Sumter
county from 1933 to 1938 when
he left to assume his duties in
farm planning for the soil con
servation service at Carteraville.

ported’for active duty with Army
Air Forcei at MacDill Geld, Fla.:

foundland before going to Eng
land where he served from 1941 to
June, 1946, as deputy chief of staff

arated from the service in March,

will continue to reside to Sumter.
