Bethune of 1947". She was pre
sented with a basket of gladlclls.
During the period given over to
the introduction of guests, a young
Udy from Ehigland, Mrs. Stokes,
was introduced. She came from
England a year ago, arriving in
the States on July 4. From New
York she came )to Bethune to meet
her husband, to whom she had
been wed In England. The British
glrl’was visibly embarrassed when
called to the microphone but she
thanked • the good people of Be
thune and community for having
been so kind to her and bad helped
so much to overcome her home
sickness.

Well folks, it was a grand day
and we’re thanking the good folks
of Bethune for their gracious re
ception of a wandering newspaper
writer who really enjoyed every
minute of his stay as a guest at
