Enthuse Over Plans
The meeting of the Woman’s
Anxiliary of the Camden hospital
held last Monday was largely at
tended and much enthusiasm was
expressed in regard to the coming
events to be sponsored by the
group, namely the tag day on Sat
urday, February 8, and the annual
ball on March 12. fn the event of
inclement weathertag day will
be iheld on February 15. Also con
siderable enthusiasm was expressed
over the progress of the annual
membership drive which is being
supervised by Mrs. Leon Schles-
burg.
The members are of the opinion
that public interest in the work
being done by the auxiliary toward
making the hospital and nurses
home comparable with the rest, is
receiving the support of the public
and that it ratM as a most worth
while project

Holds Meeting
The Camden Sisterhood of
Temple Beth-Bl held its regular
meeting Tneaday evening, January
14, at the home xif Mrs. Julian
Ehchel on Fair street. A mdst in
teresting paper was read by Miss
Sara Wolfe. Delightful refire'sh-
ments were served.
On Monday evening, January 37,
at 7 p. m.. there will be a bingo
party at the residence of Mrs.
Simon Eichel on Fair street. The
proceeds from which will be given
to charity.

at the home of Mrs. Leon Schlos
burg the first Tuesday in February
at 7 p. m.. Mrs. Milton Well, Miss

engagement of her daughter, Grace Bllcabeth Jackson,'and Lieut
Maxwell Marsh Julian, army air forces, of Flagstaff, Arls., and
Shaw Field. The wedding is to take place on February 7 in Lyttle-
ton Street Methodist church at Camden.

January 24, at the home of Mrs.
A. A. West The meeting was called
to order and began with the sing
ing of “America.” . ) ,
’The devotional was conducted by
Mrs. F, W. Horton and followed
with prayer by Mrs. H. C. McCoy.
Sixteen members answerd the
roll call and the minutes of the
previous meeting were read ‘and ap
proved. Tem-Iy dues were paid by
all members present, and “Old
Black Joe” was sung.
After a discussion of old and new
business, the meeting was turned
over to Miss Lime, assistant home
demonstration agent, and her sub
ject was **Sonth Carolina Vegetable
for Health.” She gave an instruc
tive and interesting talk in which
she stressed the need of vegetables
in our diet and ways of cooking and
selecting our vegetables to get the
most vitamins. An Interesting dem
onstration of the pressure sauce
pan was given.. Miss Lane won the
prise in a flower quls.
The guests were invited into the
dining room by the hostess, Mrs.
A. A. West, where delicious refresh
ments were served on a lovely
table decorated with fruit and pink
miniature umbrellas on each plate.
