that took place at 8 o’clock on the
evening of January 11 at the par
sonage of the First Baptist cbnrcb.
Rev. J. B. Caston officiating. The
double ring ceremony waa used.
Following the ceremony a recep
tion was held at the home of the
bride’s mother. The bride’s table
carried a three-tiered wedding cake,
flanked by candelabras with lighted
tapers, llie boose was decorated
with pink carnations and ferns.
Punch and cake was served by Mrs.
David Lemire and Jean McLean,
sisters of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of the
Camden high school. During her
school years she was prominent as
a member of the girls basketball
team, being one of the ontatanding
girl players in the history of the
institution. ’The groom, a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Branham of
Blaney and le a graduate of the
Blaney high school. He received bis
discharge from tb» navy on April
4,1948, after serving for a period of
S4 months as storekeeper 2-C.
’The young couple are making
their home at 1110 Fair street to
this city. ’The groom is employed
here as an assistant manager of
the J. C. Petiney company store.

Tbe candlelight ceremony was
performed by the Rev. J. W. Austin
and the Rev. W. H. Moore, The
chnrch was effectively decorated
with palms, fern and floor baskets
of white gladkdL
Mrs. Paollne Tiller, organist
with Miss Martha TUIer and Marion
Wiggins, as soloists, furnished the
wedding mnslc. The bride, given in
marriage by her father, wore a
gown of white satin fashioned
along princess lines with long
pointed sleevee and a sweetheart
neckline.
The maid of honor, Mies Jane
Kirst wore a white gown with a
fitted lace bodice, and full taffeta
skirt. She wore a halo cap and
long white gloves and carried a
bouquet of red roses.
Mies Betty West bridesmaid, and
Miss Carol Wllllama, Junior bridea-
maid, were dressed identical to the
maid of honor.
Little Margarite Driggers, the
flower girl, wore a dress of white
organdy and white bonnet and car
ried a basket of red and white
rosea
Alvo Stokes, ancle of the bride
groom, wss best man. and Carl
Ware, Keenan Stringer and Walter
Hodges served as ushers.
Mrs. Bartram. mother of the
bride, wore a gown of green velvet
and ain orchid corsage.
Mrs. West, mother of the groom,
wore a gown of black crepe with
a pink bodice and a* shoulder cor
sage of orchids.
Following the ceremony a recep
tion was held at the home of tbe
bride's aunt. Mrs. Ethel Ware.
The couple left for a short wed
ding trip after which they will be
at Durham, N. C., where they both
will attend Dnke university.
