Funeral geprlcea for McNeil Cly*
bum, *r.. 21. were held at the
Methodiet church In Bethnhe at 8
o’clock Friday afternoon, conducted
by Her, John V. Murray, aaalated
by Rer. Mr. Altman of the Baptist
church and Rer, Waller B. Baker of
the Prebayterlan church, assisted
by C. S. Floyd of Holly Hill and
N. E. Truesdale of Gastonia, N, C.
Interment took place in the
Bethany cemetery, Mr. Clyburn
was critically injured when the car
OTerturaed near Union church on
the old Camden road.
, Nell Kelly of near Bethune was
driving the car. Mr. Kelly was not
swionsly Injured. Mr, Clyburo
served three years during W*orld
War n in the navy and was dis
charged a petty officer.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas McNeil Clybum, Sr.,
several aunts and uncles.

treasurer of the local Salvation
Army unit indicate that the pro
gram is going strong.
The unit has been very active for
the short time it has been in opera
tion and activities reported as fol

A great deal of relief and cheer
have been extended by the new
organization for the short time of
opration.
Thanks are extended by Chair
man Stover and Secretary Mays for
the response and cooperation in
the present drive for funds to carry
on this work. The drive has not
reached the amount expected and
the public is urged to make their
contributions early as possible as
the drive will close Friday, January
10, 1947. Contributions will be ap
preciated, whether it be large or
small, and may be presented or
mailed to John C. Stover, agricul
tural building.
