Camden Bulldoga closed their
eleven game schedule for 1f4f
in a Homeooming game on Zemp
field and were given a S2 to 0
trouncing at the hands of an
aerial-minded outfit from BreoV-
land-Cayce. The season’s records
of the 1946 Bulldogs was 4 wine
and 7 defeats.
We are Informed that Mahoney
and Marsh, center and right tackle
of the bulldogs this season, will be
lost next year because of gradua
tion.
The injury to Walleee Meyerc,
a probable leg fracture, wee a
aerieua handicap to the Bulldogs.
Meyers wm Injured in the second
quarter end had to be carried to
the eldellnee where he lay
wrapped in q blanket until taken
to the hospital in an ambulance.
«
Daring the season Just closed
Camden played good and bad foot
ball but this much can be said of
the team—they always fought hard.
’They won from Darlington, Harts-
Tllle, Charleston and Harding High.
Most of the defeats were by small
margins.

The Camden Bulldogs climaxed
one of the most disastwoua sea
sons in over a decade when they
bowed before an aerial-minded
Brookland-Csyce team in the an
nual Home-coming event at Zemp
field by a score of 22 to 0. It waa
a worse trimming that the 1946
team was handed in the clash with
the same B<1 team, tho score at
that time being 26 to 6.
In the Home-coming game which
was witnessed by some 1,200 fans,
seversl hundred beipg from Brook-
land-Cayco, the vlsHora scored
single touchdowns in the first three
quarters and two in the final. Wal
lace Myers, one of the dependables
on the Camden team, was injured
in the second quartw and had to
taken to the hospital when R
was feared that one of his legs wsa
broken.

The flinging arms of the passers
were working to prefection and tho
leather floater around in the sone
in a most bewildering mgnner.
The passing atta^ in the final
quarter netted two quick scores in
the waning mlnutea of the game.
The first half ended, 14 to 0.
Guy Epes scored three of the
B-C touchdowns and Jacobs and
BurkeJLt scored once. Jones made
one of the extra points on a line
plunge.
Epee made the first touchdown
on a pass from Spigner and Jones
added the extra point on a line
plbnge. Ipes edded the second
tonehdown in the second period
on a sleeper when he took e pass
from Spigner.
The third touchdown came in
the third period when Spigner
faked a reverse and then passed to
Spigner who carried the ball over
the goal.
Two touchdowns were scored in
the final period, one on a rassle
dazsle play on which Fulmer later-
ailed to Spigner who then passed
to Jacobs. The final touchdown
came on another fake reverse aad
peas from Norman to Burkett.
Reek HiU Bleughtere Chester
If Camden’s Home-coming waa
somewhat a gloomy affair, it waa
nothing to what happened up at
Chaafer when the Rock HiU Bear-

count was 4S to 6 In tevor at the
Bearcafs. A number of Camden
fans wko Journeyed to Chester to

Camden fsna make the trip to Char

Camden has been represented on
the South Carolina team a number
of times, but this year there is no
Bulldog player ou the squad.
As is generally known the Shrine
game pits an aU-star North Caro
lina high school team against an
sll-star South Carolina team. ’The
game is one of the outstanding,
sports events of the year in the
