Girl As Bride

A wedding of beanty and dignity
was that of Mias Helen EHaabeth
Parker and James Alexander Watts,
which took place In the Arsenal
Hill Preabyterlan (dinrch on Octo
ber S at 8 o’clock. The Rev. Wal
ter K. Beatty, pastor of the bride,
asaiated by the Rev. W. JYed
Hedgepeth, cousin of the bride, of
ficiated In the preaenep of a large
assemblage of relattvea and friends.
The church was. effectlvMy deco
rated with Southern aiullax, large
pedestal baskets of white gladioli
and burning tapera In white can
delabra.
Nuptial music waa rendered by
Mrs. John Wilds, organist, and Mrs
Ralph B. HUl. sister of the bride,
and pianist.
The brunet bride, given In mar
riage by her brother-in-law, Wilbur
M. Martin, was exquisite In her
wedding gown of white faille, mar
quisette and lace. The fitted bodice
featured a marqnlaette yoke out
lined with lace, which gave a
droppedahonlder effect, and long
sleeves which extended over the
hands and were trimmed with lace.
The full skirt, which had a panel
of tiered lace down the front, ex
tended Into a full-length train. Her
waa employed at the lengthy veil ot bridal illnaion was
Southern Aviation school as a me-
chanle. From Camden he went to
the'army and served two years. He
and Mrs. Martin are making their
home hi Anderson.

Will Be Present
At Board Meetings
Mrs. Granger Gaither, 'prealdent,
and Mrs. A. D. McAm, vice presi
dent, of the Hoepltal auxiliary, will
attend future meetings of the board
of directors of the Camden hos
pital
This will be the first time that
the auxiliary officers have been
able to be present at the directors
gatherings, it Is stated.

Mrs. Watts Is the daughter of
Mrs. John Vincent Parker and the
late Mr. Parker. She received her
education in the Columbia city
schools and now bolds a position
with the Cientral Chevrolet com
pany.
Mr. Watts Is the eon of Mr. and
Mra. C. B. Watts of Caslden. He
was educated In the Camden schools
and la now employed with' the Co
lumbia Welding company. The
bridegroom recently returned to Co
lumbia after amrlng five years In
the army, three of which were
spent In the European theater.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mra. Ronnie Arnold gave
a tea last Friday afternoon, No
vember 8, celebrating the 50tb wed
ding anniversary of her parenta,
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pinkney
Brown. The rooms ware thrown en-
sulte an d beautifully decorated
with g(dd chrysanthemums. After
greetings were exchanged by the
family they were Invited Into the
dining room where a delicious salad
course was served buffet styla. The
dining table waa covered by a late
ly lace table cloth and centered by
a miniature crystal lake and swans.
The huge tlMTed cake decorated In
white and gold was flanked by tall
lighted candlea. After Mr. Brown
ajislsted Mrs. Brown In cutting the
cake it waa served to the guests
with punch.
