navy officert to commend the air
craft carrier US8 Enterprise,
which recently was awarded a
navy unit commendation for in
flicting ’’terrific locsee’* on the Jap-
aneae daring the war in the Pacific.
The period covered by the citation
to the Enterprise was November 19,
1948, to May 14. 1946.
Four other carrlert, the USS Cow-
pene, Hancock, Langley and Wasp,
received navy unit commendationi
in a public pre-navy day ceremony
at Washington, D . C. Recipient
groups made up oi commanding of-
floeri, one pilot and one enliited
man from each carrier received the
commendation on behalf of their
