Business men of Camden hare pre
sented the city with a petition rela-
tire to the meter area, which requests
that the original plan be chang^ so
as to ^iminate sereral area from
meter installation. They ask that
Broad street be metered from Lafay
ette to Arthur street Instead of from
Walnut to York, that DoKalb be
metered from Market to Church
streets and that RuUedge be exempt
ed from meter Installations.
They also ask that the meter opera
tion period be from f a. m. to 6 p. m.
Mayor McCorkle, when Interrlewed
regarding this move by the merchuts,
stated that the company making the
meter installation hare made a surrey
of the pieter requhrenMnts and this
report Is expected to reach the dty
councU within the week. The nmyor,
who was out of the city a granter
pert of the present week, declaled
that the suggestion of the merdkants
would recelre earetal conaidMwtion
after the surrey report is noted.

bare beed changed. All enlistments
contracted after the first of Sep
tember IMC will be for either 4 or
9 years except applicants who are 17
who win be enlisted for minority
(until 21st birthday).
Chief Sanders stated that to recelre
