GUIUN & CUMPMIY AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT OF SOUTH jCAROUNA to VnTHHOLD ISSUANCE OF A UCENBE ON ANY MOTOR VEHICLE, PROVIDED THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPART MENT HAS FIRST RECEIVED NOTICE FROM ANY TAX OOUJDCT- ING AGENCY THAT ANY DEUQUENT TAXES DUB THE STATE OR ANY SUBDIVISION THEREOF, ARE UNPAID ON SUCH MOTOR VEHICLE, UNTIL SAID TAXES HAVE BEEN PAID; TO DEFINE DE LINQUENT TAXES# AND TO REQUIRE THE OOMPTEOlXEHt GEN ERAL TO PREPARE, APPROVE AND SUPPLY SUITABLE FORMS TO THE RESPECTIVE COUNTIES. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina: SECTION Pr-^hat the State Hijfhway Department of South Caro lina shall not issue a license on any motor vehicle to any person, firm, Or corporation, provided said Highway Department has received notice prior to August 1st of each year for the succeeding license year from any tax collecting agency of this htate that any delinquent taxes due the State, «or any subdivision thereof, including municipalities, on such motor vehicle have not been paid, until proof of payment is funiished, as herein provided. Upon receipt of payinent of the delinquent taxes, after previous notice has been given to the State Highway Depar^ent of such delinquency, as provided aboVe the said tax collecting agency shall, on the same date of receipt of payment, mail or cause to be de livered to the State Highway Department written notice of su»h pay ment. PROVIDED, That the Tax Collecting Agency shall issue in dup licate evidence of tax payment on motor vehicles. • ACTION 2. "Delinquent Taxes** are defined as those subje^ to execution, as provided by law. SECTION 3. The Comptroller General of South Carolina shall, within ninety (90) days from the passage of this Act, cause to be pre pared and furnished to all the various counties in this State proper and suitable forms for furnishing to the State Highway Department the in formation required by this Act.
