he frequently visited here with his
friend, the lale Senator James V,
Lafferty, during the hunting season.
He was for many years vice presl*
'dent of the White Truck company and
a close friend of the late Walter C.
White.- While with the White, com
pany he frequently worked with
Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.
Mr. Williams had the capacity of
making friends of all with whom he
came In contact, and had traveled
widely In the United States and
abroad.
He was bom and reared at Char
lotte, N. C„ but went north to live
as a young man. Two years ago he
spent part of the winter season here
gt the home qf his sister, Mrs. L. O.
Funderburk, of whom he w.as very
fond. He Is survived by two sisters
and one brother in addltioQ to Mrs.
