All organisations work the same way, for they must be a unit; and since I strive to paint my melodies with a camel’s hair bruih instead of with the sweeping stroke of the white-wash brash, I must insist upon that delicate oneness of tone.” “I have great faith in America’s musical artists and mnslc lovers; and V Waterfront, activities, carefully supervised, are easily the most popular sport at Camp Opportunity School, Jr., which will be held at Camp York, in King’s Mountain State Park, for the third ttoe from July 17 to August 16. ^ke William McElevee comprises 80 acres. So ws must bring it out with good music throughout the land, and plenty of it Everyone must hear it and this process takes time. Most schools today now have bands and orchestras for boys and girls. ’This enlivening Interest means an increase in the number of concert- goers, and in the number of concerts. So we thought that we might clarify tbe situation somewhat by first offer ing honor—to whom honor it due. The American Legion after many buffs and rebuffs took the bull by the horns and rammed him backwards down the throats of (the can’t be done its) by raising |7,600 for a lighting system. This headed by a fellow with whom most of you are familiar and know him as one who puts his best Into everything he attempts, from a simple appendectomy to a complicated base ball situation. He had some able sup port on this from some merchants, oil men and Inn keepers. After this came further negotiation for a place to put this expensive lighting system. The result. Allotment of a portion of tbe original ball park on which to place these lights and play baseball. The balance of this ground was re served for a carnival ground for a one-week stand once a year. We have not been able to ascertain whether this carnival troupe is made up of local Kershaw county talent and returned service men or not. (But presume not). Whereas, the Legion team is made up of sons of Legion alree, and the league team except a small minority of returaed sMviee men. ’The Legion sponeors this base bail program to teach sportsmanship and build character. ’The league to rehabilitate and en tertain returned service men. What doea tbe carnival promote or stand for? The real estate on which all. these projects a^e located is owned (we understand) by the city, eonnty andL jchool dlltrlcL but io_toL_we haven’t heard the voice of either the county or school district Therefore, we must conclude that the feneo was placed around the small area which was reluctantly given by the city council. So we eay to yon baseball fans. Legionnaires, returned veterans and sons that we have a slogan which you might do well to adopt and fUe for future reference under the cap tion of political caution.
